Sebastián Lehuedé

Technology & Social Justice

I am a Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor) in Ethics, AI & Society at the Department of Digital Humanities, King’s College London.

I am a recognised voice at the intersection of digital technologies and sustainability. My current research explores how AI is shaping the diverse, place-based relationships that communities have with their land and ecosystems. For this, I work with Indigenous, peasant (campesino) and urban communities in Chile and Colombia. I have also written on digital sovereignty and scientific data.

Outside academia, I collaborate regularly with media outlets, NGOs, and various organisations in Europe, Latin America, and elsewhere. I have delivered keynotes at both academic and non-academic conferences, including talks at international organisations such as UN Human Rights and UNCTAD.
